Hi.
I am in a bad relationship where I feel my woman is trying to control me. I think it's because I've allowed her to "think" she can control me because I am not showing enough self control of my own emotions. I've become her door mat! I am googling around to understand this better and I came across your article which has shed light on my situation. I am very emotional right now and that has given me a false sense of trust to think that by being "cute" or being "nice" was going to get her to like me. There is a difference between being genuinely nice and just "nice" on the surface just to be on someone's good side. I think the later is what I've fallen into and it's made me come across to her as weak and as someone not in control.
You see, I have a 9 yo boy from a previous relationship and she is practically demanding me to take his overweight situation more seriously and to do something about it. I agree with her, but her approach is very domineering and aggressive. I have been put off by this and I tend to cower to her body language and aggression. This has made it worse for me because she feels I cannot control my son nor myself. I am emotionally stuffed!
But your article shed light to me.
I will encourage my son to loose weight and to do more exercises with him (I don't need to lose weight personally). But I am doing this for *him* not her. If she notices that I am taking charge and being in control of myself and my son, then I am sure her view of me will improve.
ps. Dale... I think your attitude is not right. It's not about controlling a woman. It's about controlling yourself and letting her know that you are a man - not a wuss.

David;
                I have learned from you that an intricate knowledge of women's thought process is paramount to be successful .Until a man can read the signs and anticipate the next move on the perverbial chessboard,he can't control the situation.
                                                                                                        Thanks....Dale
